Employment Litigation
Gillian's practice emphasizes the defense of sexual harassment, race and age discrimination, wrongful discharge and other employment-related claims in state and federal courts and before the Department of Fair Employment and Housing (DFEH) and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). She has also appeared many times before the California Labor Commissioner, successfully defending wage/hour, bonus/commission and other compensation claims. With an eye towards resolving disputes in the most efficient manner, she frequently represents clients in alternative dispute resolution forums, including mediations and arbitrations.
Employment Counseling
Gillian frequently works with employers, including human resources professionals, to assist them in planning terminations and reductions in force. To help employers create policies and procedures that minimize the risk of exposure to employment claims, she assists in the drafting of employee handbooks and provides counseling and training programs on a variety of employment issues.
Real Estate Litigation
Gillian has represented clients in a broad range of real estate litigation, including disputes concerning real property purchases and sales, easements, boundary lines and quiet title.
She specializes in commercial landlord/tenant litigation representing commercial landlords and tenants in all phases of landlord/tenant disputes, including workout after defaults, unlawful detainers, and breach of lease litigation.
